I had a really wonderful photoshoot back in April with Scott and Max. Scott adopted Max almost 14 years ago through Best Friends Animal Society (you can read more about the two at the Best Friends website) and we met on this gorgeous April day to get a shot for a new Best Friends print ad promoting their “No More Homeless Pets” campaign. You can see the finished ad at the end of this blog post, but here are some outtakes that I particularly loved. When I get the opportunity to photograph such an amazing pair and chronicle their bond, I feel so at home, and know I have the best job in the world.

The ad made it’s debut in Frontiers magazine and can now be seen larger than life at the Grove!

Since you’re probably curious, let me answer some questions: Yes, Rose is gorgeous in person. I would die for her skin. The Gods are sometimes very unfair. Yes, she is totally awesome, kind, and sweet in person. Meeting really nice, generous celebs in person is always such a treat. And yes, Rose is a huge dog lover and absolutely dotes on her Boston Terriers, as she is famously known for.

Dear Blog Readers,

HAPPY 2010! Is it really almost mid-February? Are you freakin’ kidding me?

Busy season hit me in October and everything has been a blur ever since then. I swear it went from October to February in the blink of an eye! I’m really enjoying some time now to relax. Breathe. Have some time for myself and read the pile of magazines that’s steadily growing on my coffee table! I’m also taking this slower season to work on some projects for myself. It’s really quite a breath of fresh air. And for those that don’t keep up with me on Twitter or Facebook - I’m fostering a dog!

But I’ll be back to some regular blogging too, especially because I hit my 2 year anniversary this month and have some words of wisdom I’ve gathered over the last 365 days to share with you all.

In the meanwhile, here’s the new magazine cover for The Bark that’s out on newstands! It features the ridiculously cute Millie, one of my clients from early 2009.

Also, I have another photo on an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother Monday February 8th at 8PM - that’s tomorrow! It will be a very quickie cameo but it sounds like it will be very funny. Congrats to my doggie client Frankie and her family.

Now to get started on that pile of magazines… Real Simple beckons.

I’ll do a longer blog post about this one later, but this book is incredibly inspiring and has such valuable information. I can’t wait to read more of this while on my holiday break. David offers a ton of information on how to be a professional photographer and make a life and living in the industry. He also offers 9 different profiles of photographers who are working full-time and making a living at the craft - like Zack Arias, Chase Jarvis, and (gulp) me!

There’s a bunch more stuff in the works right now that I’ll blog about once everything is more solid. Whew. I’m tired just writing about all this.
