photographer in search of long term fosters in LA.

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

Calling all Los Angeles rescue groups! I am working on a project involving dogs that have been fostered for a long time and for one reason or another, can’t seem to find their forever homes. This project is in collaboration with a really fabulous company and I will be providing more details later as we get closer to the revealing. We will be shooting sometime this month in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. (For more details please view our flyer.)

If you are interested in submitting dogs from your rescue, please send us an email along with a photo and brief bio/description if possible. Please feel free to download this flyer and pass along to those you think might be interested. For a larger image visit http://twitpic.com/3ms37c/full

The photos and stories we have received so far are truly heartbreaking and a few have literally made me cry. It only confirms how important and needed this project really is. Thanks to those who have already submitted your beautiful dogs desperately seeking their forever homes.

UPDATE 1/18/11: We had our photoshoot this past weekend and met with 10 different rescue groups and their beautiful dogs. Casting and shooting is complete for now, but we’ll probably be doing this again in the future! Thanks for all the great submissions.

Meet Princess Abby, the winner of the 2010 World’s Ugliest Dog contest!

She loves dancing for treats!

thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday for our “Portraits for Puppies” fundraiser! Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the Dawg Squad has another $875 to help with their medical bills.

I met so many beautiful dogs and their owners on Saturday and I’m just sorry I couldn’t fit you all on the blog.

You are all amazing and thank you so much for the support. I know the puppies thank you too!

portraits for puppies!

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I’ll be doing fun dog headshots on Saturday June 19th at the Centinela Pet and Feed in Westchester. 100% of proceeds will be donated to The Dawg Squad to help them treat a litter of very sick puppies that were recently saved from the streets of Compton! The Dawg Squad has racked up almost $10,000 in debt to help treat these little babies and now need our help.

Portraits will be taken on a first come, first serve basis, so just show up with your dogs! My personal goal is to raise at least $1,000 for the puppies so please help us by sharing the flier with friends on your twitter, facebook, and blogs if you can.

Puppies should NOT be in the world as skinny and malnourished as these babies were, but thanks to the wonderful people at Dawg Squad who are well-known for taking in sick dogs and rehabilitating them, these babies will get a second chance at life. Remember Jeffrey? He’s completely healed and well loved now, thanks to this wonderful rescue group!

Thanks in advance to all for your help and support, and hope to see you on Saturday June 19th! And if you’re not in LA but still want to help, you can always make a much appreciated donation.

PS: If you plan on stopping by, please RSVP so we can start to get a headcount. Thank you!

More of Pabst, the 2009 World’s Ugliest Dog!

Monday, June 29th, 2009

By now I’m sure you’ve heard that Pabst is the winner of the 2009 World’s Ugliest Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma. Aside from worldwide fame and glory, Pabst and his owner Miles Egstad won $1,600 from the Sonoma-Marin Fair, plus another $1,000 in prize money from sponsor House of Dog, a table of House of Dog “bling” and a year-round modeling contract with the doggie design house. Pabst also won a professional photoshoot with me, so he can show the world that ugly is the new beautiful.

We met the morning after the contest and despite the extreme heat (poor Pabst!) we had a great time. Pabst is modeling gorgeous collars and leashes from House of Dog like an old pro. I have a feeling I’ll be referring to these photos anytime I’m in a really crappy mood - Pabst just makes me happy!

(Click on small photos to enlarge)

When Pabst isn’t frowning like an old man, he actually has the sweetest doggie smile. Check out how long his bottom jaw is.

He’s also a dog of a million faces.

Adorable Happy Pabst:

You can really see HOW FAR Pabst’s underbite extends in this next photo. Celebrity judge Doc Halligan estimated it at almost 2 inches!

Congratulations Pabst, Miles and Veronica! Hope you have an amazing year as the World’s Ugliest Dog and we’re rooting for you down here in sunny Los Angeles!
