extreme dog makeover.

As someone who has two rescued dogs, I know how important a good quality photo is in the adoption process. So I volunteer my photography services every week to a dog rescue in town called Pawd Squad.

Oftentimes, another volunteer takes snapshot of a dog before I get a chance to take a portrait. While their photos are really great, sometimes they lack that “doggy essence” that really conveys what the dog’s personality is all about. Fannie Mae is a great example of this. She was truly one of the silliest, happiest girls I’ve had the pleasure to photograph. If she wasn’t jumping around trying to play, she was leaping at my camera to lick the lens =) Her before picture looks a little intense, and her expression looks so serious. Which really isn’t how she is at all!

As a pet photographer, I consider it my utmost duty to take photos that really capture the personality and spirit of the animal. I know it sounds really cliche (what pet photographer DOESN’T say they want to do this??) but I think this before/after series really shows the difference a pet photographer can make. They almost look like 2 different dogs, don’t they? I hope to see this sweet girl adopted very, very soon!
