happenstance cat.

I was walking around Venice recently and happened upon the most interesting little kitten. She was GORGEOUS and such a little model. She loved the camera and hammed it up, and after about 10 minutes I walked away with some cool cat photos. I wish I knew who her owners were so they could see how well their little kitten photographs. Her tag said her name is Lucy — so if anyone knows Lucy from Venice’s owners send them my way!

By the way, do any cat lovers read this blog? I’d say 95% of my clients are dog owners — where are the cat lovers at!?!

Custom magazine covers! — think “Real Simple” meets Dog or Cat Fancy. Well designed, cute, and simple. There are several websites online that allow you to generate your own custom magazine covers, but frankly they’re a little amateur and unpolished.

So hey, if your dog or cat never gets the chance to grace the cover of a ‘real’ magazine, this might be the next best thing. Pop it in a frame, hang it on your wall, and nobody would know the difference. Don’t worry, I won’t tell ; )

Oh man it was a hot weekend in LA. I hope everyone had a much cooler weekend than I did. I have NO A/C in my apartment, yet I spent the majority of the weekend inside this sweltering heat processing client photos. That’s dedication, right? ; )

So remember Henry, that adorable 14 year old terrier? Here are a few more photos from our photo session a few weeks ago. The weekend we did this session was another unseasonably hot weekend in LA — poor Henry’s tongue is about to fall out of his mouth in some of these photos!

A friend of mine is starting a cool series over at her blog, interviewing people who keep their day jobs while also pursuing their creative projects on the side. I’m honored to have been her first interview! If you’re interested in some back story regarding how I plunged into pet photography, please head on over to her blog and take a gander. And if you too, are trying to make your dreams come true while working the 9-to-5 grind, give her a holler!

Okay, so you work a 9to5, but you’re also CREATIVE…

in need of a home.

Alvin’s been homeless for quite some time now and is still looking for that special person to love him. He’s such a sweet, gentle old soul. I hope he finds a new home soon. The Paw’d Squad will be at the Best Friends LA Super Adoption Event this Sunday in North Hollywood but Alvin won’t be able to make it. So I designed this poster that will take his place — at least now everyone can get a look at that handsome face of his.

Please feel free to download this poster and email it to anyone you think might be interested!
