wood grain pet portraits.

Whew, I’m beat.

I woke up at 6:30AM for an amazing photo session this morning in Venice with an adorable couple and their dog Dottie. (Can’t wait for you to see those photos!)

Immediately after, I went to Santa Monica to take some event photos for the grand opening of a new dog lifestyle store called HealthySpot. I also helped Todd from A Dog’s Life 100% Natural Hand-Baked Treats with his photo contest and shot photos of many adorable dogs. (Can’t wait for you to see these either!)

AND THEN, I went straight to Westchester where I took a few photos of some dogs in need of loving homes for Paw’d Squad.

Needless to say, I’M POOPED!!!! So while I’m busy getting all these thousands of photos ready for your viewing pleasure, please mosey on over to Amy Turner’s website. I met Amy a few months back at a design*sponge event. Not only is she immensely talented, she’s super nice too. She does the most amazing portraits of your pets using a really unique medium — wood grain contact paper. I can’t get over how cool these are. They belong in a modern art museum!

schedule update.

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Just wanted to let you all know that I’m officially booked through May, June, and July. Demand has been pretty high, and I’ve been booking about 2 months in advance pretty regularly. I’m taking a very limited number of sessions each month to ensure my clients get the best photographs possible.

So if you’re thinking about booking, please do it sooner rather than later. Also, people do cancel so it doesn’t hurt to email me to ask about my schedule! I just might be able to squeeze you in.

And lastly, I just wanted to note that sick or senior dogs will ALWAYS get priority. Time is of the essence, so I’ll try my best to get you scheduled as soon as possible.

Thanks to all my past, present, and future clients!

Due to my upcoming TV commercial shoot out of the country, I had to do some rescheduling for a few of my clients. Luckily my clients are all extremely understanding! So while I was originally supposed to have a free weekend to myself this past Memorial Day, I ended up having a photoshoot with a great dog named Max in Oak Park, CA.

I think these might be my favorite photos to date. The look of them is completely different than most of my photos, because it was extremely overcast on Saturday. So much that I thought we’d have to reschedule our shoot (again!!) due to the inclement weather. But I’m SO GLAD we had our shoot, because man I love the photos we got. The clouds were just amazing!

This session was also special because it was a gift to my clients from their daughter, all the way in New York. So thank you to Darlene and Tony for giving me the opportunity to photograph Max, and thanks to Amy in NY for choosing me to be your pet photographer.

Happy belated Memorial Day everyone! Hope you all had a great 3-day weekend. I had fun — went to a wedding, hung out with a friend from Seattle, and squeezed in a last minute photo shoot!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some photos, so here are some more from my fun session at the dog park with Scout the adorable beagle puppy. (Click on smaller photos to enlarge)

dreams of flying and talking dogs.

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

I’ve been so incredibly and wonderfully busy with both my advertising life and photography life this week. I have a billion things going on with Shine Pet Photos, and I’m also in production for a huge TV shoot I’ll be going on in a few weeks. Can’t wait to share the details with you in another post. ; )

I usually like to post something everyday during the work week and feel I’ve been slacking a bit, but until I start my daily posting again here’s some fun stuff to check out.

First: Amazing photography by Jan Von Holleben

“dreams of flying” by jan von holleben

If you google his name, you’ll find a bunch more images that aren’t on his website, but are still as magical and whimsical. Isn’t he wonderful?

Next up: Talking dogs! You HAVE to turn the volume up when you watch this. It’s hysterical. Enjoy!
