Mickey is one of those cats that thinks he’s a dog. He follows you around, is extremely vocal, knows how to walk on leash, and loves working for food. Sure made my job easy!

He was recently diagnosed with cancer and underwent chemotherapy, but seeing these photos you’d never know it. Actually, he looks completely healthy in person too! When his mama first contacted me he was still sick and was missing fur from his cancer treatments. But 2 months later when I finally met him he looked AMAZING.

Thanks Jennifer and Steve for a really fun shoot! Mickey was such a joy to photograph. I’m so glad he’s feeling so much better now!

5 amazing dogs, tujunga ca.

Monday, October 27th, 2008

I met my clients and their amazing pack of 5 dogs last weekend in Tujunga, CA. It was my first time up there and I loved it! I felt like I was away at a mountain resort in Colorado or Arizona.

Barbara told me she wanted to get a family photo of all the dogs together. I KNEW this wouldn’t be easy without an assistant, so the BF came with me on a shoot for the first time. He took some behind the scenes photos which were really cool — I’ve never seen myself in action before! It was actually really hilarious seeing photos of the dogs just sitting there while I was inches away from their face with my camera. (I’ll post these as soon as I get them off the point and shoot!)

All of their dogs are rescues and it was so much fun seeing their pack dynamic, with personalities ranging from Abby the 15-year old matriarch to little 1 year old Hunter who just couldn’t stay away from my lens.

So here are the 5 amazing Tujunga dogs in no particular order:

Pee Wee — 6 years old:

Jack — 8 years old:

Rascal — 3 years old:

Hunter — 1 year old:

Abby — 15 years old:

Abby is Craig’s first rescue dog and absolutely HATED the camera. Anytime she saw it, the poor thing would turn her head away from me. But one of her most favorite things in the world is riding in a vintage truck with her daddy and the minute she got in the truck with him her smile came out. I love it.

Here’s one of many fun family shots I got:

And then there was an awesome shed painted in the most gorgeous red/orange:

Barbara and Craig, thanks for such a fun photo session! Vin and I had a great time hanging out with you and the dogs. (And thanks for all the bottles of water!) Hope you love the photos.

Lulu’s is an 11-month old Standard Poodle.

Her dad bought a gift certificate for Lulu’s mom’s birthday and we had a fun photo session early in the morning (which you’ll be able to tell by the beautiful early morning light).

And I’ll mention right now that Lulu’s got the best hairdo I’ve ever seen on a dog.

Or photographed on a dog. Ever.

Thanks Matt and Janabai for an awesome photo shoot. Hope you guys love the photos!

Doesn’t she look like an anteater in the last photo? Ha ha!

If you enjoy my photography, I would appreciate it so much if you could please take 5 minutes to cast your vote.

Much love and thanks in advance!

PS: Thank you, thank you, thank you to all my friends and clients who have taken the time to vote and review. Wow. All your support means the world to me.
