extreme dog (RESCUE!) makeover.

Huzzah, The Paw’d Squad is now officially The DAWG SQUAD! And there’s a snazzy new website and logo to match the adorable new name. New look, new name, but the same amazing dedication to the dogs in Los Angeles who need great homes.

BEFORE:

AFTER: (logo & website rebranding designed by yours truly)

The new website has about a million pages, just jam-packed with great information. So a HUGE shoutout to the absolutely amazing Stephanie who spent hours upon hours creating the website!

I am so excited about the rebranding. As an advertising professional, I know first hand how much good branding and design appeals to consumers. So I hope the new look means more homes for more doggies!

And here are some doggies who are looking for their forever homes. They are all as sweet as they look. Lansky and Cayenne especially break my heart because they’ve been with The Dawg Squad for so long!

And last but not least…

Una, cause she has “una” eye!

It was just another beautiful day in sunny Los Angeles on Sunday April 5th. Except this time, I got to spend a few hours in amazing Griffith Park. People were out in droves picnicking, playing music, and just enjoying the fabulously warm weather. And I had the pleasure of meeting 2 adorable brothers - Jack and Max.

Here’s Jack (5 years old). This photo pretty much sums our shoot up for me - He’s goofy, smiley, and always had something stuck to his beard.

Sweet Max is 12 and you’d never be able to tell. He is a total mama’s boy and his mama is happy to oblige. He looks like such a happy puppy in our photos.

I’m digging the tones in this black and white:

Carol and Jeff, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and the dogs! Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do.

happy birthday zoey!

Monday, April 20th, 2009

My little baby Zoey turned 2 today. (Sob. They grow so fast!) It feels like just yesterday that I picked her up from LAX airport when she was only 4 months old!

We had a great birthday celebration - our friends from Best Bully Sticks were so kind and generous and sent us a huge sample of Bully Sticks just in time for Zoey’s big day! (Thank you Karen!!) I prefer giving my dogs Bully sticks instead of rawhide because they’re 100% digestible. I’ve read a lot of articles about the dangers of feeding rawhide and have been giving bully sticks to my dogs instead for years now. Except #1) They are SUPER SMELLY and #2) They are expensive! They’re around $4-$5 at pet stores in LA.

I was super impressed with the quality from Best Bully Sticks because they were thick yet much less smellier than usual, and the prices are REDONKULOUSLY affordable. And boy did Maeby and Zoey love their new treats. Shine Pet Photos clients will be receiving these treats with their print orders so be on the lookout! (As with any treats, just be sure to supervise while your doggies enjoy their snack). And thanks again Karen from Best Bully Sticks for the treats - Maeby and Zoey loved them and I know my clients will too!

Maeby says GET IN MY BELLY!

The birthday girl:

So delicious, Zoey had to quote a line from her favorite movie (2 thumbs up if you know what movie it’s from):

Check out this sweet baby Australian Labradoodle named Sydney (Get it? ‘Cause she’s Australian?) She’s only 4 months old and is the cutest, floppiest Muppet dog. When I get to meet adorable babies like this I can’t help but feel like the luckiest gal alive.

Sydney is a little supermodel in the making - check out the long legs she’s got going for her! Like any good supermodel she loves the camera, but she loves her mom and dad even more. And boy, do her mom and dad love her back. I can always tell when I’m on a shoot with first-time doggie parents - they beam from ear to ear as they watch their baby ham it up for the camera. A shoot with Shine Pet Photos is like a kid’s first piano recital I guess. : )

more mikimoto, cerritos pet photography.

If there’s such thing as a Puppy Prodigy, then little Mikimoto is definitely it. She’s only 3 months old, but Mikimoto has so many commands down pat with the intense focus and concentration of doggie models far older than her. Tell Mikimoto to “LEAVE IT” and she’ll just stare at a piece of treat on the floor! Come on now. That’s like the dog world’s version of Doogie Howser.

Smarts and good looks. Mikimoto’s got it all. Even her own golf course and Porsche!

(Click on small photos to enlarge)

Mikimoto’s daddy loves golf and has passed down his love to Mikimoto. They love playing on the little course in their backyard.

Best caddy ever?

This is how she rolls: Big pimpin in the back of her own Porsche.

Her mom and dad are still newlyweds! And by the way, their wedding was photographed by the famous Scott Robert. Never thought I’d overlap clients with you Scott!

I was really tempted to put Mikimoto in my camera bag and rush home. I mean just look at this face!

Nancy and Newton, it was such a pleasure meeting you and little Mikimoto! I’m so glad we photographed her while she’s still so young. Thanks so much for a great photo shoot!
