chloe & stella | los angeles dog photography
July 28th, 2009I recently had the opportunity to shoot my oldest and youngest dog clients to date, together in one shoot.
Stella is an adorable 12 week old pug puppy that I just wanted to hide under my shirt and bring home with me. She’s covered in little wrinkles and pudgy pug rolls and I couldn’t stop squealing over her absolute cuteness.
Her sister Chloe is a 16 year old pug who was on the last few days of her life when I met her. She couldn’t walk, couldn’t hear, and couldn’t go to the bathroom without her mama’s help. But our shoot was a wonderful celebration of the charmed life she lived!
5 days after our shoot, Chloe was peacefully put to sleep.

Chloe LOVES peanut butter:

Ear flip alert!

All tuckered out:
Rest in peace, dear sweet Chloe. It was an honor and privilege to meet you. May you be running and licking lots of peanut butter over the rainbow bridge.

Well, I was all set to say “you outdid yourself”, but John said it. Guess I can say ditto! I mean seriously! Wow. Very touching, too. You don’t take photos girl, you MAKE them! Superb!

Fantastic and poignant photos. I’m sorry to hear of Chloe’s passing but one could do less than to have the great life that she sounds to have enjoyed. God bless little one.

I am so glad they had you there to capture these extremely important events in their lives. They couldn’t have picked anyone better to do it. Now I’m going to go get my box of tissues.

My eyes got teary reading this post. Pets, aren’t they the best companion to have? I think it’s wonderful idea to photograph the last few days of their lives that they have with us… memories might faintly fade with time but photos sure do last! Awesome job again Grace!!

Amazing. I’m a long time lover of your photography and being a pug owner myself, I can say with certainty that you have captured the essence of pug with these shots.
RIP sweet Chloe. Run free at the bridge and feel no more pain.
