how NOT to hire a pet photographer
May 21st, 2012This is the strangest bunch of emails we’ve received in the history of Shine Pet Photos (2008, to be exact). Seriously, if you’re trying to hire a pet photographer, a little bit of common courtesy goes a long way in my book. Fortunately, 99.99999% of my clients in the last 4.5 years have been incredible - and I thank you for that! Keep an eye on the time stamps while you read this.

It sounds like you are looking for a portrait photographer, and not a pet photographer? We only photograph animals.

Insert eye roll here. Seriously, David Thorne - is this you messing with me?
Moral of this story: If you want to hire a pet photographer, try giving them as much information upfront as possible. Try being courteous (A salutation, please and thank you would be nice?). And try not to get pissy if they don’t respond to you within 1 hour of your email. But dear Potential Client, thank you for the laugh today on an otherwise boring Monday.

and sometimes it is so hard not to be rude back.

Just… what?!!? There are no words. I’m with Laurenne — it’s clearly an extremely well-educated bird who doesn’t have any concept of time (because he’s a bird) but is smart enough to know he wants photos of himself, indoors and out. Possibly has plans to make them into canvas wraps for his cage.
