July 2nd, 2008I had another great photo session this past weekend with Delana, a gorgeous Lhasa Apso. Delana was so amazingly comfortable in front of the camera, probably because she’s a former champion show dog! Her owner Louise adopted Delana when she was retired at the ripe old age of 3, and it’s been a match made in heaven ever since. Louise lives in a beautiful home in Los Angeles with the most amazing yard — fig trees, rose bushes, and grapes are just some of the things she has in her garden. They made a perfect backdrop for our session.
By the way — I mentioned Delana retired when she was 3. Any guesses how old she is now?
Well with those bright eyes and that adorable puppy smile, I wouldn’t have blamed you if you guessed 4? 5? Maybe 6 or 7? But Delana is 14 years old!! Talk about aging gracefully.

Thank you Jill! Yeah Delana is very happy and very healthy. Louise feeds Delana really good quality natural food and treats and you can see the difference it makes!

Wow! I cannot believe that this girl is 14! She looks positively amazing, I thought she was only 4 or 5.

Wow, 14! She sure looks sprightly still. Love that 4th one with the little tongue. I think I have a thing for doggy tongues. Hmmm weird….

Ahhh haa haa, she is sooo cute! I laughed out loud! I love these shots of Delana and I love HER!! Her owners must be thrilled. Yes guys, the ‘older’ dogs definitely have something to them don’t they?
